Enjoy the Seasons at Sleepy Cat Guest Ranch

Spring

As spring arrives in the White River Valley, the fishermen begin catching a bounty of fish on the White River. There is over a mile of river flowing through the Sleepy Cat Ranch and the fishing in the nearby lakes and streams is excellent. The warm days and cool nights make the Sleepy Cat a wonderful getaway for wildlife viewing and just relaxing.

Summer

Summer at the Sleepy Cat is full of activity. We are a popular destination for family reunions and weddings. For a vacation spot away from the crowds, the Sleepy Cat is ideal for enjoying clean mountain air. With our location on the Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway, day trips offer beautiful vistas. Hikes on nearby trails in the Flat Tops Wilderness area are always memorable experiences. The Spring Cave is a nearby adventure destination. There are several stables that offer horseback riding in the area. Over Independence Day weekend, Meeker hosts Range Call, a western celebration including a rodeo, country western concert, parade and the always entertaining re-enactment of the Meeker Massacre and the Meeker Bank Robbery. Meeker has a 9 hole golf course. As in Spring, the fishing is world class. We have Live Music in the lodge several times throughout the summer.

Fall

The Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway is a lovely drive for fall foliage viewing. The Sleepy Cat Guest Ranch has been famous for years for its food and lodging during hunting season. The Meeker area is home to some of the nation’s most extraordinary big game hunting opportunities. Hunters from all over the globe make The Sleepy Cat Guest Ranch their hunting headquarters for the famous White River elk and mule deer herds year after year.
